### How did you get into insurance and financial services? What experience do you have?

I’ve been in the financial services industry for 12 years. I first started out as a mortgage underwriter at Principality Building Society, then moved into the financial crime team where I primarily investigated mortgage fraud.

I moved over to compliance and the insurance sector in 2016 and I’ve been working in the role since. This means I have years of practical experience behind me, making me a compliance expert.

### How do you keep up to date with the industry?

A big part of my role is keeping up to date with the industry, as I have to evaluate how any updates or changes affect us as a business and also how it impacts our customers.

So I’m always researching the industry, reading about regulatory updates, visiting websites for governing bodies like the FCA and ASA, and more.

> Always do your research and compare before choosing a product. Sometimes the cheapest isn’t always the best - it’s about getting what is right for you. You could end up spending more if you do not get the right product with the cover you need, especially with insurance. So, I recommend you work out what you want or need, do your research, and compare your options to try and find the best possible product for you.
