### Insurance and personal finance writer

Derri’s writing and editing career began in 2004, proofreading a tourist magazine in-between tutoring Egyptian teens in Cairo.

Once back in the UK, she proved her adaptability as a writer while working at a 4x4 motoring magazine, before spending seven years specialising in sub-editing at Cycling Weekly magazine.

Derri has worked with Go.Compare since 2014, editing and writing a wide range of insurance content. Her specialist areas include:

- [Motorbike insurance](/content/motorbike-insurance/index.html) - Derri was a biker in her younger days, starting out learning on a 125cc, then riding a Triumph Bonneville and Kawasaki ER6f. She has done a bit of motorcycle touring as well as everyday riding, and has used this experience to enhance our bike insurance content.
- [Pet insurance](/content/pet-insurance/index.html) - Alongside her work for Go.Compare, Derri has provided expert content for ManyPets, focusing on pet health and insurance, since 2021. She owns two dogs and has been a foster parent to many cats and kittens (including a period where she had 11 cats under one roof!)
